3D Dental X-Ray At Maxident Clinic
It’s part of our ongoing mission to provide the most modern, hi-tech and comfortable environment, coupled with complete focus on patience care. What’s more, all Maxident Clinic practitioners keep abreast of all the latest trends and technologies that could benefit our staff and dentists and in turn provide superior services to our patients. It is in this spirit that Maxident Clinic recently invested in the Sirona ORTHOPHOS XG 3D X-Ray.
With the acquisition of the ORTHOPHOS XG 3D x-ray we are able to offer High Definition CBCT scans, which allow us to diagnose tooth problems and bone issues from the inside-out. Each tooth and the surrounding bone can be viewed in 3D, as well as cross-sections in as little as 0.1mm increments. All of this is possible with the Sirona Orthophos XG 3D CBCT scanner. Our scanner also integrates with the CEREC system to allow for planning of dental implants with the end result in mind.
This is a non-invasive method of determining how much bone is available for dental implant placement, and allows us to plan your dental implant treatment before any incisions are even made. Dental implant guides can even be made that snap onto the adjacent teeth that allow for dental implant placement without any incisions or stitches! By using the Sirona Orthophos XG 3D system and CEREC, we are able to coordinate dental implant placement precisely and accurately with your restorative dentist to achieve the most natural, aesthetic and functional results possible!
Other benefits for Maxident Clinic’s patients include reduced radiation compared to iCat images or other cone-beam technology currently being used. Also, the ORTHOPHOS XG 3D x-ray allows Maxident Clinic to use external bitewings without the need for patients to hold a device in their mouths. For patients who have experienced discomfort or gagging with conventional x-rays or impressions, this problem is eliminated.
